Mentor Meeting
Mentors, parents, students, and administration who are members of the Mentor Program are invited to meet with us on March 24, 2016 at 6:00 PM in the A. L. Corbett Middle School Library.
Career Fair 2016
A. L. Corbett Middle School is encouraging students to explore the relationship between personal qualities; education and training; and the world of work. My Dream Job Fair 2016 is scheduled for Friday, April 22, 2016 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
The goals of My Dream Job 2016 are:
  • To increase an awareness about exciting and successful opportunities at businesses and colleges.
  • To explore career interests and related occupations.
  • To help students develop a plan for their future.
Go To Work With A Relative Day
A. L. Corbett Middle School students may participate in the National Take Your Child to Work Program on March 18, 2016. Students will have an opportunity to explore careers with local business and industry partners. Having students go to work with a parent/guardian or other relative for a day provides them an opportunity for a “real world” experience. If you would like to participate in the “Go To Work With A Relative Day” Program, please see Ms. James to get a permission form and return it to her by Tuesday, March 11, 2016.

8th Grade Individual Graduation Plans
Individual parent/student conferences are required by the Education and Economic Development Act (EEDA) for every 8th grade student. Conferences will be held in the school library at A. L. Corbett Middle School from 8 AM to 3 PM February 22-26, 2016. You are invited to 8th Grade Parent Night at Wagener-Salley High School for an orientation on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 5:00 PM to begin this process and learn about programs of study. Again please attend 8th Grade Parent Night at Wagener-Salley High School on February 18, 2016 at 5:00 PM and set up a conference time and date with your child’s middle school counselor.
Fire Prevention Week
Students in K-8 will participate in activities scheduled for the elementary and middle school campuses during Fire Prevention Week of October 5-9, 2015. The Wagener Fire Department will present fire safety tips. There will be an assembly scheduled for middle school students in grades 6-8 on October 5, 2015 beginning at 8:00 AM per grade-level Exploratory Class periods in the school gym.
USCA Saturday Academy 2015
Middle school students in grades 6-8 will who completed applications will begin the Saturday Academy sponsored by the University of South Carolina Aiken on Saturday, September 26, 2015.
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is October 25-30, 2015. There will be school-wide activities for grades K-8. School-wide activities will be posted to our school website.
The PSAT will be administered on October 14, 2015 at 8:00 AM in our school library. Please contact your middle school counselor for more information.
Bully/Gang Awareness Assembly
Students in grades 6-8 will attend an assembly on October 1, 2015 beginning at 8:15 AM that is design to provide information that will help students make good choices and learn safety/survival skills.
